Viral Cat Cruelty Video Sparks Outrage in Kerala

A man in Kerala is at the center of a controversy after allegedly killing a cat and sharing the video on Instagram. The incident has led to widespread outrage, prompting police to take action.

The accused, identified as Shajeer and hailing from Cherpulassery, was detained following a formal complaint by an animal rights campaigner. The graphic video, which went viral online, depicted the unsettling sequence of feeding the cat, killing it, and displaying parts of its carcass.

Police have confirmed that the disturbing footage was allegedly recorded in Coimbatore. Authorities are currently interrogating Shajeer, although his official arrest has not yet been made. The case has been filed under sections of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
