Fifty-one tourists from Maharashtra, stranded in Uttarkashi district due to devastating flash floods, are reported to be safe according to state government officials. The floods hit Dharali village, a popular summer tourist destination, on Tuesday.

The state's Emergency Operations Centre revealed that 11 of the stranded individuals hail from Nanded district while the remaining 40 come from other parts of Maharashtra. To ensure their safety and timely evacuation, the Maharashtra government is working closely with Uttarakhand's Disaster Management Authority and the Uttarkashi District Disaster Management Centre.

Efforts are actively underway via Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi to move the affected tourists to safer areas. District administrations throughout Maharashtra have been directed to remain vigilant and offer any required support. The situation is under close watch, with information accessible through helpline numbers. Dharali lies just 2 km away from Harsil, which hosts an Army base.
