A tragic family feud in Vizianagaram district escalated when a 40-year-old man, identified as Simma Appa Rao, allegedly shot and killed his 60-year-old relative, S Appa Rao, using a country-made gun. The incident reportedly arose from a disagreement regarding the return of gold jewelry.
Police Superintendent Vakul Jindal explained that the altercation happened in Musiram village after the suspect, traveling from Pathavalasa village, confronted his uncle, who had previously refused to return the jewelry without the presence of a local official. This conflict between the relatives culminated in murder.
Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act, as the suspect remains at large. The tragic event has highlighted the dangers associated with unauthorized firearm possession and the complexities of family disputes.
