The Maharashtra government has initiated a Rs 1,732 crore plan focused on modernizing land surveys and enhancing the infrastructure of its revenue and land records departments. This move aims to bring efficiency to land measurement and record-keeping processes across the state.

As part of the e-Survey 2.0 project, Rs 132 crore is earmarked for acquiring 1,200 cutting-edge rovers to expedite land measurement tasks. Additionally, a significant Rs 1,600 crore has been allocated for constructing new office spaces and residential quarters for the state's revenue officials.

In a meeting led by Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar, with the proposal made by Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, a call was made to procure 4,000 rovers, with an initial batch of 1,200 to be obtained immediately. The rovers will facilitate timely delivery of digital land maps to citizens and support efficient action against illegal sand mining activities.
