Controversy Erupts Over Delhi Assembly's Phansi-Ghar Misrepresentation

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has demanded a thorough investigation and an FIR regarding the alleged misrepresentation of a segment of the Delhi Assembly building as a 'Phansi-Ghar', or execution room.

Speaker Vijender Gupta clarified that the structure, inaugurated in 2022 by former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was historically a tiffin room. Addressing the Assembly, CM Gupta called this a 'gross distortion of history' and a betrayal of public trust.

She urged the removal of misleading signs referencing the execution room ahead of the All India Speakers' Conference, emphasizing the importance of upholding historical accuracy. Nearly Rs 1 crore was reportedly spent on promoting the 'false narrative', and Gupta seeks full recovery and accountability.
