In a significant operation, Gujarat's Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has apprehended a social media influencer accused of promoting Al-Qaeda propaganda. The woman, Shama Parveen Ansari, allegedly used her online platforms to encourage anti-India rhetoric and jihadist ideologies.

Arrested from Bengaluru, Ansari faces allegations linked to her operation of multiple social media accounts that disseminated provocative messages. These accounts, which included two Facebook pages and an Instagram handle with a considerable following, reportedly shared incendiary content by Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and other radical sources.

Officials reveal that in May, shortly after India's Operation Sindoor targeted terror havens in Pakistan and PoK, Ansari urged Pakistan's army chief to capitalize on the situation for 'Project Khilafat'. ATS investigations continue into her connections, including links to four others previously arrested for similar acts.
