A dramatic encounter unfolded near Shivrajpur crossing on Thursday, resulting in the injury of Ashish Ranjan, a man wanted in multiple murder cases. The Special Task Force (STF) acted on credible intelligence to intercept Ranjan and his associate, who were suspected to be en route to Prayagraj to commit another crime.
Upon reaching the location, the STF team faced indiscriminate gunfire from Ranjan, who wielded an AK-47 rifle and a 9mm pistol. In a battle of grit, authorities responded with strategic retaliation, successfully subduing Ranjan and seizing his weapons, ammunition, and a motorcycle.
The firefight left Ranjan with injuries that required immediate hospitalization. As the STF detained him, they assured that further legal proceedings and investigations would be conducted to address the sequence of these violent events.
