A special court in Sultanpur has conditionally approved the renewal of former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's passport. The court requires him to seek permission before any international travel, as confirmed by Special Judge Shubham Verma on August 6. The ruling follows a plea filed by Kejriwal's counsel, advocate Madan Singh, citing overseas travel difficulties.

The approval is linked to a case involving alleged breaches of the model code of conduct during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in the Amethi district. Kejriwal, who is on bail, must inform the court beforehand for any foreign trips due to the pending case.

The Supreme Court's directions have left the case in abeyance. The legal proceedings stem from allegations during the electoral campaign in Gauriganj and Musafirkhana areas, and the conditional passport renewal reflects the ongoing legal intricacies surrounding Kejriwal.
