A grim episode unfolded in Mayurbhanj district as Odisha Police arrested three individuals for the heinous repeat assault of an 11-year-old girl. A minor and the survivor's brother-in-law were among those apprehended.
The arrests came after the girl's mother lodged a formal complaint with Khunta police station on August 3, detailing the assaults that occurred across various locations from June 14 to July 27.
Law enforcement has charged the accused under multiple sections of the BNS and POCSO Act. The court has placed the accused in judicial custody, while medical examinations have been conducted for both the survivor and the accused. A magistrate recorded the young survivor's statement, marking a critical step in this ongoing investigation.
