Flash floods in Uttarakhand, India, have left at least 13 Nepalese nationals from Jajarkot district missing, according to local authorities. The region has been battered by multiple monsoon-triggered natural disasters this week.
Tuesday's deluge severely impacted Dharali village in Uttarkashi district, sweeping away several buildings. The missing individuals hail from Kushe Rural Municipality, and authorities have been unable to contact them since the disaster struck.
Chairman Harishchandra Basnet has appealed to the Nepalese government and its Ministry of Foreign Affairs for swift diplomatic action to initiate effective search and rescue operations in the affected regions.
