Under a landmark bilateral framework agreement, a significant number of Indian workers have reached Israel to bolster its workforce. As revealed by Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, a tally of 6,774 Indian laborers had arrived in Israel by July 2025, fostering employment primarily in construction and caregiving sectors.
Despite the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict that erupted in October 2023, resulting in casualties among Indian nationals, the Indian government reaffirms its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens abroad. The agreement, officially signed in November 2023, underscores a structured and legal migration pathway for Indian workers.
Challenges have emerged with some workers, about 220, returning to India due to skill mismatches and language issues. The Indian Embassy in Israel remains proactive, maintaining regular contact with the Indian community and coordinating with Israeli authorities to safeguard worker welfare and address incident-related grievances.
