In a decisive move against illegal immigration, Assam's security forces have intensified efforts to push back infiltrators attempting to enter from Bangladesh. On Friday, ten individuals were repelled from the Sribhumi district, a maneuver disclosed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Sarma highlighted on social media platform X the ongoing stern action against unlawful entries, reaffirming the state's stance on preserving its demographic integrity. The Assam Police, alongside the BSF, has been unyielding in their enforcement, having repelled numerous individuals in recent months.
The increased vigilance comes amid disturbances in Bangladesh, prompting Assamese authorities to bolster security along the extensive India-Bangladesh border. Officials stress that anyone lacking valid citizenship documents will be swiftly pushed back, maintaining a secure boundary for Assam.
