In a troubling incident from Maharashtra's Palghar district, a 43-year-old auto-rickshaw driver sustained serious injuries after a violent confrontation erupted over water sharing from a public source. The altercation involved two couples and ended in an attack with a paver block and iron rods.
The clash occurred on Friday morning at Alkapuri locality in the Nalla Sopara area, where residents rely on a public water tap provided by the local civic body. The victim opposed the use of an electric motor by the couples to draw water, fearing others would be left without.
The disagreement escalated, resulting in the physical assault, which left the victim hospitalized. Police have registered a case against the four suspects and initiated an investigation under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
