Early on Monday, a notorious criminal identified as Surya Narayan Hansda was reportedly killed during a police encounter in Jharkhand's Godda district. According to senior police officer Shailendra Kumar Sinha, Hansda was involved in numerous criminal activities across Godda and Sahibganj districts.
The operation unfolded after Hansda's arrest on Sunday in Deoghar. He was being escorted to Lalmatia to locate potential weapons when his associates ambushed the police, attempting to facilitate his escape. The police were forced to return fire, resulting in Hansda's death.
