The Delhi High Court took a firm stance on maintaining confidentiality in the Lokpal's investigation into the alleged cash-for-query scam against Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra. Justice Sachin Datta issued this directive after Moitra's plea highlighted media exposure of the CBI's report. The court underscored the importance of upholding confidentiality.

Moitra's counsel pointed out that information was leaked to the media soon after the CBI's report submission. While not requesting content removal, the counsel emphasized adherence to the Lokpal and Lokayuktas Act provisions. The CBI had filed an FIR in 2022 against Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani, alleging various corrupt practices.

Moitra, expelled from the Lok Sabha in December 2023, challenges her expulsion in the Supreme Court. The Lokpal, acting as the anti-corruption ombudsman, will further decide based on the CBI's findings, which followed allegations from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey of Moitra's unethical conduct.
