A security breach at the Jet Centre, affiliated with the UK's Ministry of Defence, has potentially resulted in the compromised data of thousands of Afghans, British troops, and civil servants.
The company, which is responsible for ground handling flights, revealed on Friday that it experienced unauthorized access to a restricted number of its company emails. Approximately 3,700 individuals, including Afghans relocated to the UK, military personnel on routine deployments, and journalists on official duties, may be at risk.
This incident echoes a previous data leak in February 2022, where personal information of over 18,000 Afghan individuals collaborating with British forces was inadvertently disclosed. Britain continues its efforts to resettle Afghan allies through the Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP).
