During his visit to the disaster-hit area, Abdullah announced financial compensation from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund as a gesture of solidarity, also ensuring long-term support for the affected communities. The visit highlighted the human toll: 60 deceased, over 100 injured, and numerous missing.
The chief minister detailed compensation: Rs 2 lakh for each bereaved family, up to Rs 1 lakh for severely injured, and Rs 50,000 for those with minor injuries. For structural damage, funds were allocated based on severity. Abdullah, expressing deep sorrow, emphasized the government's ongoing support and directed immediate infrastructure restoration.
