Former MLA Guddu Pandit Accused of Assault and Death Threat

Former Uttar Pradesh MLA Guddu Pandit, whose legal name is Bhagwan Sharma, faces serious allegations of sexual assault against a woman, aged 40, in Bengaluru. The allegations also include threats to her life, according to police reports.
The complainant claims that at Pandit's behest, she and her minor son traveled to Bengaluru from Uttar Pradesh on August 14. The trip included various excursions across the city. On August 16, Pandit allegedly took them to Chitradurga and subsequently arranged accommodation at a five-star hotel near Kempegowda International Airport.
Inside the hotel room, the woman alleges, Pandit coerced her into sexual acts against her will and threatened her when she resisted. A formal complaint resulted in the filing of a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, with investigations ongoing, according to police.
