Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has voiced his concerns regarding potential voter exclusion during the upcoming Bihar elections, prompting questions about the transparency of the Election Commission's procedures. Citing the Electors Rules, 1960, he emphasized the possibility of many eligible voters being left out.

Stalin, also the President of the DMK, questioned the reluctance to use Aadhaar as a valid voter identification and raised doubts over voter deletion and low new voter enrolment rates. He urged the Election Commission to adopt more voter-friendly practices and address these severe issues before forthcoming elections.

Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner Gynaesh Kumar dismissed accusations of double voting and 'vote theft' as baseless. In an August 17 press conference, he assured that all measures are being taken to ensure the Special Intensive Revision process is conducted with utmost transparency and success.
