In a bid to ease ongoing tensions, Russia's Human Rights Commissioner, Tatyana Moskalkova, revealed that Moscow is prepared to exchange 31 civilians with Ukraine. Reports by the state news agency RIA indicate hopes for a reciprocal exchange from both sides.

The civilians in question hail from the Russian region of Kursk, where Ukrainian forces previously conducted a significant incursion. Their release is still pending, and negotiations are slated to continue.
