In a shocking turn of events, a Tahsildar and a Mandal Surveyor from Ranga Reddy district, Telangana, have been apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). The officials are accused of demanding bribes amounting to Rs 50,000 each.
The bribes were reportedly solicited from a complainant seeking assistance with land registration and typographical corrections in land records. An ACB release revealed that the woman Tahsildar had already taken Rs 50,000 to kickstart the process.
The ACB, labeling the actions as dishonest, has launched an investigation. This incident sheds light on persistent corruption in official government procedures.
