Delhi's district bar associations have issued a firm 48-hour ultimatum to the government, demanding the withdrawal of a controversial order by Lieutenant Governor dated August 13. The order allows police to present evidence in court virtually, directly from police stations.

In a recent gathering, the leaders of the capital's bar associations unanimously stood against the notification, expressing their concerns over potential negative impacts on the justice system. Additional Secretary General of the committee, Tarun Rana, confirmed the decision to submit a formal representation to oppose the order.

If the demand is not met within the specified timeframe, the associations have vowed to escalate their protest, potentially taking to the streets. They argue that the notification undermines lawyers, disrupts the judicial process, and threatens public interest by paralyzing trials and obstructing justice delivery.
