The Haryana government has decided to hand over the investigation into the death of 19-year-old teacher Manisha from Bhiwani to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after facing significant public outrage. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reassured transparency and justice, while expressing his continuous involvement in the case updates.
Protests erupted after Manisha's body was discovered in a field on August 13, following her missing report filed on August 11. Authorities have suggested a suicide by poison; however, her family disputes these claims, with her father openly rejecting the suicide theory.
In response to public discontent, mobile internet services were suspended in the Bhiwani and Charkhi Dadri areas. Political opposition accused the ruling party of law and order failure, amplifying the demand for a thorough CBI probe.
