Authorities arrested a former village head and his nephew on Wednesday, allegedly responsible for the brutal murder and dismemberment of a woman, according to senior law official SSP B B G T S Murthy. The search for a third suspect continues as police unravel the grisly details of the crime.
On August 13, dismembered remains of an unidentified woman were found in a well in Kishorpura village, sparking a police investigation. Missing parts added urgency, compelling the police to act swiftly. During the probe, police discovered that Rachna Yadav, 35, from Mahewa village, was involved in the case.
Rachna Yadav had allegedly extorted money from Sanjay Patel, the former village head, while pressing him to marry her. Patel, along with his nephew Sandeep Patel and associate Pradeep alias Deepak Ahirwar, purportedly conspired to end Yadav's life. The suspects executed their plan on the night of August 9, ending Yadav's life and scattering her remains. The police have arrested the main perpetrators and continue to seek the remaining fugitive.
