In a bid to uplift marginalized communities, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar introduced government initiatives aimed at improving the lives of abandoned Muslim women and fostering education for Muslim youth. The announcement was made during the centenary celebrations of the Bihar State Madrasa Education Board.

The state government has significantly increased financial aid for abandoned Muslim women from Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 per month. The Minority Welfare Department has also expanded programs to support the education of Muslim students, bolstering efforts that began in 2005 with the formation of the NDA.

Kumar highlighted past neglected issues, such as the meager conditions of madrasas before 2006, which have since been ameliorated with fair compensation for teachers. Moreover, peace initiatives have reduced communal tensions through the fencing of graveyards, reflecting a broader push for societal harmony and development.
