Ukrainian Suspect Arrested in Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotage Case

Italian authorities have apprehended a Ukrainian national believed to be the mastermind behind the Nord Stream pipeline attacks that escalated the energy crisis in Europe. Germany's prosecutor general confirmed that the suspect will be presented to a German judge following his transfer.
The suspect, identified as Serhii K., allegedly participated with a group to damage the pipelines near Bornholm island in September 2022. Utilizing forged documents, the group rented a yacht from Rostock, Germany, to execute the attack, as revealed in official statements.
Acting on a European arrest warrant, Italian police detained Serhii K. in Rimini. He faces charges ranging from anti-constitutional sabotage to collusion for causing explosions. Italian authorities have yet to comment on the arrest.
