Tragic Incident: Teen's Untimely Death at Thane Shelter Home

A tragic incident unfolded as a 17-year-old boy allegedly took his own life by consuming poison at a shelter home in Thane, Maharashtra, authorities reported on Thursday.

According to a Vartak Nagar police official, the boy ingested rat poison on the terrace of the shelter home on August 18 around 4 pm. He was subsequently taken to Kalwa civic hospital but succumbed to the poison during treatment the following Wednesday.

The police have registered the case as an accidental death pending further investigation to determine the reasons behind this unfortunate event. The boy's body has been sent for a post-mortem examination.
