Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Monday launched the "Griha Shuddhi Abhiyan," an anti-human trafficking and parenting awareness initiative, at Raj Bhavan. Organized by the Indian Nurses and Allied Union, it focuses on protecting children by addressing issues of abduction and exploitation.
In his speech, Governor Gehlot underscored the alarming rate of child abductions in Karnataka, stressing the need for a collective societal response. He called child protection a national duty, advocating for a societal cleansing drive.
Gehlot also highlighted the efforts of law enforcement and NGOs in tackling child exploitation. Emphasizing collaboration, he praised the work of groups like the Narcotics Control Bureau and Indian Medical Association that stand united against trafficking and exploitation.
