Tirupati YSRCP MP Maddila Gurumoorthy has issued a plea for intervention by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and the SC and ST Commission. The appeal comes in the wake of serious allegations that TDP MLA B Rajasekhar Reddy, accompanied by his associates, launched an attack on Srisailam forest officials.
The incident, which occurred on August 19, involved the assault and threatening of Nandyal District Forest Officer's driver, Karimullah, and other officials. Gurumoorthy revealed that the MLA, reportedly inebriated, resorted to physical violence and hurling casteist slurs at the officers, all of whom belong to SC, ST, and minority communities.
Gurumoorthy condemned the incident as a gross violation of constitutional protections and called for immediate action to ensure justice and accountability. The ruling TDP has yet to respond to the allegations.
