Heightened security measures have been implemented across Delhi University's campus in preparation for the September 18 student union elections. The police have introduced additional forces and deployed advanced surveillance technology to ensure a seamless election process.
Additional CCTV cameras have been strategically installed around the campus, supplemented by 160 body-worn cameras provided to personnel on duty. These efforts promise comprehensive monitoring during the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections, according to a senior police officer.
During recent meetings between senior police officers and university officials, security protocols were reviewed and emphasized, including the inspection of vehicles with tinted glass and the confiscation of those without number plates. Over 200 police personnel will patrol the campus daily, with women officers stationed near campus pickets. These actions underline the commitment to robust security during the elections.
