Illegal Site Allotment Scandal: ED Arrests Ex-MUDA Commissioner

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested former MUDA commissioner Dinesh Kumar in connection with a case involving illegal site allotments. The move comes under the provisions of the anti-money laundering law, sources revealed on Wednesday.

Kumar is scheduled to be presented before a designated special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court in Bengaluru. The agency will request his custody to further investigate the matter, officials stated.

Prior to this arrest, the federal probe agency conducted searches at two residential locations in Bengaluru linked to Kumar. Evidence points to his alleged involvement in extensive illegal allotment activities during his tenure, which reportedly included monetary benefits. The ED's ongoing investigation stems from a Karnataka Lokayukta Police FIR that implicates several prominent local figures, including the state's Chief Minister.
