Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced on Wednesday a special Diwali incentive of Rs 5,000 for workers at Delhi's three landfill sites. This initiative aims to recognize their contribution to the Swachh Bharat Mission.

During a visit to the Bhalswa landfill, Khattar took responsibility for its cleanup and urged the Delhi Government's collaboration with organizations to expedite the process. He emphasized that safety and respect for all workers are crucial as they tirelessly work towards a cleaner India.

Khattar revealed that around 1,470 legacy waste sites exist nationally, highlighting three major ones in Delhi. The Delhi Development Authority will assist by providing land and logistical support for cleanup. Plans to separate legacy and fresh waste processing aim for improved efficiency, with 25 acres already cleared.
