In a recently unveiled case, two teenagers stand accused of orchestrating a cyberattack against Transport for London (TfL) in August 2024. The agency responsible for London's sprawling tube and bus networks saw its systems compromised, affecting millions of daily commuters by exposing personal customer information.
The National Crime Agency identified Thalha Jubair, 19, and Owen Flowers, 18, charging them under the Computer Misuse Act. The charges stem from their alleged illicit activities against TfL, according to an NCA statement made on Thursday.
Furthermore, Flowers faces additional legal challenges, including involvement in cyber offences targeting California's Sutter Health and the infiltration attempts on SSM Health Care Corporation networks. Authorities have linked these cyber intrusions to the hacking collective known as Scattered Spider.
