The Maharashtra government's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Rajaswa Mission has launched the 'Seva Pakhwada' in Palghar, announced district collector Indu Rani Jakhar on Friday. Running from September 17 to October 2, the initiative aims to expedite the delivery of services and benefits from welfare schemes directly to citizens.

In Jawhar and Mokhada talukas, Jakhar evaluated numerous developmental initiatives and government schemes. She inspected farm ponds set up under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). In Mokhada taluka alone, 53 farm ponds are slated to be constructed by 2025-26, with additional projects in Poshera, Hirve, and Ase.

Each pond has a capacity of 2.5 lakh litres of water, addressing the region's water storage needs. This firsthand assessment underscores the administration's dedication to effective and timely implementation of planned projects, ensuring long-lasting benefits for the community.
