The Bihar Police have launched a new initiative to bolster their fight against cybercrime, establishing a dedicated cell within the Economic Offences Unit. Announced by Additional Director General of Police Nayyar Hasnain Khan, this initiative includes the creation of a Security Operation Centre (SOC) to tackle increasing cyber threats.

With a budget allocation of Rs 14.74 crore, the effort focuses on dismantling criminal networks using artificial intelligence and machine learning. So far, 825 police officers, including DSPs and inspectors, have undergone specialized training aimed at understanding and countering cyber threats effectively.

Since the beginning of the year, the new measures have already shown results, with 152 cybercriminals arrested, and Rs 3.89 crore refunded to fraud victims. The ongoing training and operations reflect Bihar's commitment to enhancing digital safety and ensuring justice for victims.
