Tamil Nadu's Call for Enhanced MP Development Funds
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has called on the Centre to increase the MP Local Area Development Scheme funds to Rs 10 crore to improve Centre-State scheme implementation. The state has been timely in releasing its share, urging the Centre to do the same to maximize benefits.

In a significant appeal to the central government, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin urged for an increase in the MP Local Area Development Scheme funds to Rs 10 crore. Speaking at the DISHA meeting, he emphasized the need for timely disbursements to facilitate better implementation of Centre-State schemes.
The state government has been diligent in releasing its funds, ensuring that scheme benefits reach citizens. Currently, the state provides Rs 3 crore per annum for MLA constituency development, while MPs receive Rs 5 crore from the Centre. Stalin called for this figure to rise to enhance development efforts.
On the agricultural front, the CM highlighted that Tamil Nadu offers substantial subsidies to farmers, benefiting over 1.57 lakh farmers with financial aid exceeding Rs 1,312 crore. The state's commitment to improving farmer welfare and basic amenities remains steadfast.
