A Delhi court has ruled that police are not obliged to disclose the specifics of evidence in the BMW accident case involving Gaganpreet Kaur. Kaur had been driving the vehicle that collided with the two-wheeler of a senior finance ministry official, leading to his death and severe injuries to his wife.
The court directed the preservation of CCTV footage from the accident scene but emphasized that the prosecuting agency cannot be mandated to confirm or deny the particulars of the gathered evidence. The judicial magistrate noted that the application for footage preservation was already approved, and compliance is pending.
A case under multiple sections, including rash driving and culpable homicide, has been registered. Accused Gaganpreet Kaur awaits the judiciary's decision on her bail plea, with her hearing scheduled for September 20.
