Tragic Incident in Sambalpur: Man Arrested for Cow Assault

A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody in Odisha's Sambalpur district, accused of sexually assaulting and killing a cow, law enforcement officials reported on Friday.

The suspect, Sunil Nag, employed as a tractor driver in Ainthapali, reportedly committed the act on Wednesday night. The despicable event, which took place in Bhalupali village at the outskirts of Sambalpur, was caught on CCTV footage.

The shocking incident has prompted local demands for stronger enforcement of animal protection laws and a psychological assessment of the accused. Authorities have filed a case under relevant sections of the BNS and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
