Global Stakes: The 80th UN General Assembly Kicks Off
World leaders are gathering in New York for the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly to discuss pressing global issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Ukrainian war, climate change, and women's rights. Political leaders, including Netanyahu and Zelenskiy, will present speeches addressing current diplomatic challenges.

The 80th annual United Nations General Assembly begins this Tuesday in New York, bringing together global leaders for discussions on pivotal international issues. As tradition dictates, Brazil will be the first to address the assembly, followed by the United States, with speaking order thereafter decided by hierarchy and availability.
This year's sessions come amid ongoing global crises. The conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, now nearing its two-year mark, and the ongoing war in Ukraine will be significant topics of discussion. Additionally, tensions around Iran's nuclear program and the war in Sudan are expected to be addressed by key leaders.
Environmental and social issues will also take center stage, with representatives from island nations likely to seek support against climate change. Meanwhile, a gathering to commemorate the 30th anniversary of a landmark women's rights conference will occur ahead of the main event, highlighting pressing gender equality concerns.
