In a shocking turn of events, three policemen have been suspended after an investigation revealed that the death of sixty-year-old Mehjabeen Akil Sheikh was due to gunshot wounds, contrary to earlier reports of a road accident. The case has taken a new direction as authorities delve deeper into the incident.
On August 21, Mehjabeen and two others were brought to a private nursing home by a duo claiming they had suffered injuries in a road crash. However, as Mehjabeen succumbed to her injuries on August 29, discrepancies led Jammu's Senior Superintendent of Police to suspend involved officers for negligence and possible cover-up.
Now, the focus shifts to identifying the unidentified shooters involved in this grim occurrence. Evidence, including CCTV footage and call records, suggest a firearm was used, prompting the conversion of inquest proceedings into a formal FIR. The police assure that the investigation is ongoing.
