In a significant move against Left Wing Extremism, new security camps have been established in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, known for being a Naxalite stronghold. According to police, this strategic setup aims to quash extremist activities and spur developmental initiatives.

The camps, located in Palaguda and Gundrajgudem villages, were opened in mid-September. These establishments are part of the 'Niyad Nella Nar' scheme, which seeks to deliver the benefits of 52 government schemes across 31 community facilities within a 10 km radius of the camps.

Despite challenging conditions, security forces have demonstrated resilience, with the CRPF's battalions stationed at these camps. According to officials, this infrastructure will curb Maoist activities, boosting regional security and facilitating essential services, including road construction, electricity, and healthcare.
