Supreme Court to Review CBI's Role in Alleged Adulterated Ghee Case

The Supreme Court is set to hear a plea on September 26, contesting an order that declared the CBI acted against High Court instructions while investigating the use of 'adulterated ghee' in prasadam at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, Andhra Pradesh.
A bench, including Chief Justice B R Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran, agreed to prioritize the hearing after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, on behalf of the CBI director, requested an earlier date.
The dispute originates from an Andhra Pradesh High Court decision accusing the CBI of involving J Venkat Rao, not formally part of the SIT, in the probe, allegedly causing harassment to Kaduru Chinnappanna.
