Delhi Police officials have issued a public warning, urging citizens to remain alert as cyber criminals increasingly exploit human vulnerabilities, including greed and fear, to perpetrate frauds. They underscored the importance of practicing 'information distancing' to safeguard oneself in the digital era.

During a fraud awareness event at a private finance firm in Rohini, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railways) KPS Malhotra stated that many cyber crimes are preventable. Vigilance is key as unrealistic investment promises and trust in impersonators often lead to deception.

Assistant Commissioner of Police HS Randhawa recommended strategies similar to COVID-19 social distancing, such as using separate emails for different purposes, employing strong passwords, and enabling multi-factor authentication. Immediate reporting of fraudulent activity to local authorities was also emphasized.
