The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against two men accused of facilitating illegal human trafficking from India to the United States. Officials disclosed this development on Thursday.
Sunny, from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, and Shubham Sandhal, alias Deep Hundi, based in Peeragardhi, New Delhi, were named in the chargesheet submitted to a special NIA court in Mohali. They face charges related to illegal human trafficking and fraud, officials reported.
Both individuals were apprehended in July, months after the primary suspect, Gagandeep Singh, alias Goldy, was arrested in New Delhi. Initial investigations were conducted by Punjab Police in February, before the NIA took over in March. The probe uncovered Sunny's involvement as a 'donkar' orchestrating illicit border crossings, utilizing hawala transactions. Simultaneously, Shubham facilitated illegal fund transfers as part of the trafficking syndicate headed by Goldy. The NIA remains committed to dismantling similar operations targeting innocents with false legal visa promises.
