China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi is set to embark on a diplomatic mission to Italy and Switzerland, according to an announcement from China's foreign ministry on Sunday. The visit will take place from Tuesday until October 12.

This trip follows Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's visit to Beijing in July, where she signed several key agreements with China after assuming office in 2022. Despite supporting European tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, Italy is keen on maintaining positive relations with Beijing, underscoring the benefits of Chinese investments in Europe.

Italy's deputy prime minister recently emphasized potential collaborations with China in the automotive sector and beyond. Meanwhile, Italy reaffirmed its stance with Chinese group Sinochem regarding Pirelli, showing a willingness to collaborate without compromising national strategic interests.
