Police authorities have ramped up efforts to combat cow and liquor smuggling by ordering the installation of CCTV cameras at police stations located along border areas and highways. This move follows a directive issued by Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar, who has placed police personnel on heightened alert.
The installation is set to occur at various locations including Tamkuhiraj, Tarayasujan, and Patharwa, among others, all situated along the Bihar border. Keshav Kumar emphasized the significance of this step to curb rising smuggling activities and other related crimes.
The push for increased surveillance comes on the heels of a violent clash in Gorakhpur, where tensions between villagers and alleged smugglers led to fatal consequences, including the death of a 20-year-old NEET aspirant. Authorities are responding with stringent measures to restore safety and order in affected areas.
