A 60-year-old man has been detained in Hathras district following accusations of attempting to rape a teenage girl, as per the officials' statements on Wednesday.

The incident unfolded when the man allegedly lured the 15-year-old girl to the second floor of her residence with the intent to assault her sexually. Upon the girl's cries for help, vigilant neighbors intervened, confronting the accused and thrashing him before law enforcement arrived to handle the situation.

In the wake of these events, an FIR was registered based on the complaint from the girl's family, leading to the man's arrest, according to Additional SP Ashok Kumar Singh.
