The Jharkhand Police have intensified security measures across the state in response to the CPI (Maoist) call for a 'resistance week' starting Wednesday and a bandh on October 15. Senior officials, including Inspector General (Operations) Michael Raj, confirmed the deployment of substantial armed forces to maintain peace.

The security arrangements include 12 battalions from the Central Reserve Police Force and 20 groups from the Jharkhand Armed Police and India Reserve Battalion. These units have been strategically positioned at sensitive locations, government premises, and major transportation routes to prevent disruptions.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain calm and avoid paying heed to rumors. The police are focused on continuous surveillance and have reported a reduction in extremist challenges due to recent successes in operations against Maoists, whose activity is now mostly confined to specific areas within the state.
