Punjab Police Dismantles Cross-Border Narcotics Syndicate

In a significant law enforcement achievement, the Punjab Police announced on Wednesday the dismantling of a narcotics and hawala operation based in Pakistan. The bust has led to the arrest of two key members of this well-coordinated network.
During the operation, police officials confiscated over 5 kg of heroin and seized more than INR 29 lakh, suspected to be drug-related funds. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav revealed these details publicly on social media platform X, emphasizing the operation's success in curbing trans-border narcotics smuggling activities.
The two apprehended suspects, Sajan and Resham, were reportedly involved in managing significant heroin shipments and hawala dealings throughout Ferozepur and nearby regions. Legal proceedings have been initiated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, with further investigations planned to uncover the racket's extensive network.
