The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has taken decisive action by registering a disproportionate assets case against a government official associated with the deputy district election officer in Rajouri district, according to a report released on Thursday.

Officials indicated that this case, falling under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, emerged after thorough verification showed the individual amassed assets beyond known income pathways. This included a double-storey house in Ramban district, substantial bank deposits, a car, luxurious household items, expensive gadgets, and jewelry.

Investigations revealed that these expenditures substantially exceeded his legitimate earnings, prompting the anti-corruption agency to conduct searches at his residences in Maitra, Jammu, and Rajouri, sanctioned by the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption in Doda, alongside magistrates and independent witnesses.
